The story
BeatAware was founded in 2025 by a team of medical researchers, data scientists and healthcare professionals who had spent the previous sixteen years teaching machines to hear the body: heart sounds, lung sounds, snoring, speech in noise.
The idea is simple to state. Most people meet their heart's sounds only in a consulting room, through a stethoscope, interpreted by an ear trained for years. The hardware in a modern phone can record those same sounds, and the models the team had published could read them. What was missing was a product that did so honestly: numbers that are precise about their uncertainty, copy that never alarms, and a comparison against the person's own history rather than a population chart.
That is what the iPhone app is. Twenty seconds of listening each morning, one sentence, and the measurements behind it. For the clinics the team works with, the same analysis runs behind a web console and an API.
BeatAware is a BioSonic company.
What we hold to
Thirty seconds to a result you understand
Every screen in the recording flow earns its place by getting you to a clear reading faster, or with less doubt.
Trends over single readings
One recording is a data point. The value is what changes over weeks, so history and comparison come first.
Wellness language, clinical rigour
The numbers are precise and honest, including their uncertainty. The copy never diagnoses and never alarms.
Shareable by default, private by design
Anything you see, you can hand to your doctor as a report. Nothing leaves without an action of yours.
An iPhone app first
Platform conventions for navigation, type and Dark Mode win over expression. The brand shows in the details the platform leaves open.
Built on published research
Fourteen peer-reviewed papers since 2009, on heart sounds, lung sounds, sleep sounds and robust audio analysis.
